Siempre he pensado que lo básico, lo realmente importante, los preceptos fundamentales, son compartidos por todas las religiones. Al margen, obvio, de como dice el Dalai Lama, diferencias filosóficas. Agregaría de forma, no de fondo.
Entonces, ¿por qué heredar, que se te imponga e imponer, incluso elegir una religión? La religión no deja de ser una herramienta compuesta por herramientas. Algo que, basicamente, el ser humano se inventó para poder paliar su miedo a la muerte, a lo desconocido. Yo (hablo solo por mi) prefiero elegir de entre esas herramientas las que me son útiles, sin importarme de donde proceden.
It is very important to value all religious systems. Although they may have great philosophical differences, they all have precepts for cultivating a good attitude toward others and helping them. They all counsel the practice of love, compassion, patience, contentment, and observing society’s rules. Since all religions share these goals, it is important to respect them and to value the contribution they can make.
